Volunteer
at Wivey Kitchen

Volunteers are the heart of Wivey Kitchen. No experience is necessary to volunteer and we have a wide range of activities available.

Join us and become part of something amazing!

  • Volunteers help run Wivey Kitchen in many ways. We have a group of volunteers who support our meals production service in our kitchen. They take part in a variety of activities such as:

    • Food preparation – washing, chopping, slicing

    • Assisting with cooking meals

    • Boxing meals for delivery

    • Dishwashing

    • Administrative support

We also have a team of volunteers that deliver meals to people in the 10 parishes area and also stock up our 2 freezers in St Andrew’s Church, Wiveliscombe and St Michael’s Church, Milverton. Our delivery drivers must have access to a car, relevant insurance and a current driving license

    Our pantry volunteers take part in a range of activities, including;

    • Receiving and sorting food deliveries

    • Stocking pantry shelves, fridges and freezers

    • Assisting members with their shopping and taking payments

    • Preparing the pantry for opening and cleaning down after service.

  • Our kitchen is located at The Bear Inn, 8-10 North Street, Wiveliscombe.

The Pantry is based in The Old School Rooms, next to St Andrew’s Church, Wiveliscombe.

  • We cook on Wednesdays from 9am - 3pm. Volunteers are welcome anytime and for whatever hours they prefer to work.

Our delivery team deliver meals on a Friday morning.

The pantry team help with deliveries on Tuesday afternoons and supports the pantry when it is open on a Wednesday morning.
